Dining/Entertainment

Sweet July Cafe, the all-day café from two-time New York Times bestselling cookbook author and founder Ayesha Curry and The MINA Group, is now open at The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte. Curry’s Jamaican roots inspired the menu with an emphasis on fresh, local ingredients. The eatery serves sweet and savory breakfast; all-day items; and a curated selection of coffee, matcha, smoothies and more. Curry grew up and met her husband, Stephen Curry, in Charlotte.

Sweet July Café’s breakfast features a selection of grab-and-go items, such as Coconut Chia Seed Pudding with toasted coconut and mango compote, overnight oats with apple and cinnamon streusel, and traditional muesli; and specialty pastry offerings including a Strawberry Shortcake Croissant, Crème Brûlée Danish, Nutella Pain Au Chocolat and more.

Pita-Foldies are warm, folded Angel Pita sandwiches inspired by traditional Jamaican Coco Bread. These selections are available for breakfast and all day. Other popular menu items include the SJ Double Double, a grass-fed smash burger, and Jamaican Beef Patties with avocado purée, Scotch bonnet and hot sauce. Salads change with the season.

Desserts emphasize fresh fruits. The Detox Sundae tops vanilla soft serve with market fruit and cold press citrus shave ice, or try the Deeply Rooted Sundae with a cold press shave ice made from beet, lemon, cucumber, carrot, orange and kale.

Sweet July Cafe also offers high-quality coffee, ceremonial matcha beverages and smoothies.

Sweet July Cafe is open Monday–Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m.–8 p.m.
