New York City institution The Algonquin Hotel recently debuted new menus at The Blue Bar Restaurant & Lounge. Open for more than 120 years, the landmark property honors its history with refreshed food and cocktail menus blending nostalgic favorites with modern flavors.
The Blue Bar Restaurant & Lounge’s new food menu offers a balance of comfort food and sophisticated fare. Highlights include a burrata brûlée starter, and Thai fried chicken and steak au poivre entrées. The refreshed cocktail program adds contemporary beverages and modern staples to its longstanding menu. New classics like the Aperol spritz and espresso martini secured a permanent spot on the menu.

“The Algonquin has always been a place where imagination and indulgence meet,” said Willis Loughhead, general manager, The Algonquin Hotel. “The Blue Bar Restaurant & Lounge is an essential part of that story. Our new menus build on the hotel’s legacy in thoughtful ways, offering guests something familiar, something surprising, and something that feels unmistakably Algonquin.”
The new menus are currently available daily.
In addition to the new offerings, the menu itself received a makeover. In collaboration with the Al Hirschfeld Foundation, the redesigned menus showcase archival drawings from the artist, a regular at The Algonquin, with a nod to the many characters and personalities of New York City.
