Just in time for tennis season in New York City, The Plaza, a Fairmont Managed Hotel partners with Lacoste, the French fashion-sport brand, to serve a spin on the classic tradition of afternoon tea. The Tennis Inspired Afternoon Tea honors the elegance of the sport and the heritage of the Lacoste brand.

Available through Sept. 10 in The Palm Court, the exclusive afternoon tea’s bespoke menu, inspired by Le Café Lacoste, is curated by Executive Chef Muhannad Al Ateem and Executive Pastry Chef Kevin Clemenceau.
The menu includes Le Café Lacoste’s iconic dessert, Le Crocodile, a pistachio entremets, as well as sandwiches like The Court Side Cucumber and Le “Croc” Monsieur, a reinterpretation of the French Croque Monsieur; and sweets such as the Game. Set. Citrus. lemon cake and Earl Grey Tea Break Macarons. Each item comes on The Palm Court’s sterling silver three-tier stand.

Guests can sip teas, Champagnes and C(r)ocktails while enjoying a space adorned with original vintage racquets invented by René Lacoste himself. The famous stained-glass dome of The Palm Court will glow Lacoste green, and curated music transports guests to the heart of a courtside seat.
