It’s not just one restaurant or viral dish that made Fargo-Moorhead a growing name amongst foodie travelers. The two cities, one in North Dakota and the other in Minnesota, boasts a wide range of independent and ambitious restauranteurs and chefs that may have you looking twice before skipping over the destination entirely.
Helmed by James Beard-nominated chef and restauranteur Ryan Nitschke, this restaurant serves New American fare with international flair, such as seared bison hanger steak, wild sockeye salmon with corn and goat cheese, and zucchini carbonara.

701 Eateries and Brew Restaurants
This restaurant has two distinct vibes, but both promise farm-to-table food with ties to local history. Chef Avalon Hoff crafts dishes like Swedish meatballs, lefse and hotdishes.
Also led by Nitschke, this Korean-style eatery offers unique plates like pork bibimbap, crispy fried chicken tacos, kimchi buffalo wings and mouthwatering rice bowls.

Okay, this may not be food related, but food and drink often go hand in hand, and this cocktail bar serves up signature drinks like Emerald Oasis Highball (Sugar Snap gin, Galangal and ginger); Verdant Breeze (Peanut Butter Fat-Washed Roku Gin, lemongrass and lime); and Wanna Get Lucky (Lucky Charms Milk clarified Penelope Wheated Bourbon with vanilla cream).
Savor Somali fusion cuisine at this cozy restaurant. Come hungry, as this spot offers large portions!
