Top 5 / Europe

The British capital is home to hundreds of hotels, but here we round up some of the best boutique offerings around the city.

Dean Street Townhouse

Situated in the heart of Soho, the Dean Street Townhouse is the perfect place to retire after a long night spent in the bars and clubs of central London. The smaller rooms are eminently affordable given the location.

The Curtain, Shoreditch

This newly opened property sits in the heart of Shoreditch, in the east of the city. The rooftop pool marks it from the rest of the competition.

Artist Residence

The London branch of this three-hotel chain is found in the riverside neighborhood of Pimlico, close to Victoria station. It’s a stylish little spot, with plenty of character, and doubles start at $210 per night.

Great Northern Hotel

This railway hotel first opened in 1854 and recently underwent a $52 million refit. These days, there are mini rooms made to look like sleeper carriages, with two bars and a restaurant on site to keep you fed and watered.

Rookery

This small hotel is housed in a Georgian townhouse in Clerkenwell, within easy reach of all of the main attractions. Pop around the corner to eat at Hix or St John, two of the trendiest restaurants in London.
