Seen all the classic art you can handle? Go a little out of the ordinary with these five weird and truly bizarre art installations from around the world.

“House of Eternal Return”

Located in Santa Fe and funded by George R.R. Martin, this odd installation by the Meow Wolf art collective is a 20,000-square-foot immersive experience held within a reproduction of a two-story Victorian home. Created by 135 artists, it combines horror with crazy illusions and truly beautiful set-ups that will leave you wondering just how they did it.

“Mutations”

Catch this New York installation through March 2018. Called “Mutations,” it’s a combination of 12 works, each representing the relationship between man and nature as it currently stands. Get ready for some odd ones, including some that look inspired by The Human Centipede.

“East Jesus”

A community made up of revolving art installations, “East Jesus” serves as a refuge for what it calls “wandering geniuses.” The Art Garden, continuously open to the public and free, is filled with interesting installations that are all more or less a hodgepodge of materials, mediums, creativity and ideas.

“14th Factory”

The “14th Factory” is a traveling project that combines artists and art styles for installations that are truly surprising and unlike anything else. The last chapter was located in Los Angeles until July, and the next chapter is set to open in a surprise location in 2018. While the new installation will be completely different from the one in LA, the LA version featured a recreation of the final scene from 2001: A Space Odyssey, as well as a sculpture made of aircraft wings and one installation that’s just 300 pitchforks hanging from a ceiling.

“Vision Gland”

A group of Austin (and rightly weird) artists come together to create “Vision Gland,” which produces limited-time installations around the city. One of the most recent was “The Passage,” which combines visual, audible and tactile elements in an array of sparkling lights and color. Their works also appeared at SxSW.
