If you’re headed out on spring break and feeling like travel crowds are a bit heavier than normal, it might just be because you’re traveling to one of the most popular spring break destinations for this year. A new survey from Upgraded Points looked at every state’s top Google-searched destinations, both domestic and international, for a look at where travelers are most likely to be headed for spring break 2026.
“Search trends can give us clear insight into which locations travelers may be researching, even before bookings happen,” said Keri Stooksbury, editor-in-chief, Upgraded Points. “From familiar U.S. beaches to international resorts, this data reveals where Americans are considering for their next spring break trips.”
While, obviously, results differed from state to state, there were some trends and a lot of overlap and, overall, the most popular international destination was (unsurprisingly) Cancún, Mexico. Other very popular international destinations with spring break planners included Greece; Belize; Iceland; Peru; and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
As for domestic destinations, spring breakers are looking to head somewhere warm. The top-searched stateside locales included Key West, Florida; Destin, Florida; South Padre Island, Texas; Lake Havasu, Arizona; Panama City Beach, Florida; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
