Known as Fly Ranch Geyser, this small geothermal geyser is located in Washoe County, Nev. A collision of human error and natural geothermal pressure created this rainbow-colored geologic wonder — this is one unique site you don’t want to miss.
Glow Worms Cave, New Zealand
Paddle through Waitomo Cave in Otorohanga where the roof looks like a sky full of stars — except the stars are glow worms. The glow worms cling to the ceiling of a 30-million-year-old limestone cave. The cave is known for its population of Arachnocampa Luminosa, a glow worm species found exclusively in New Zealand.
Emerald Ice on Baikal Lake, Russia
Located in Siberia, Laka Baikal is the largest freshwater lake on the planet. It contains approximately 20 percent of the Earth’s freshwater. Apart from being the oldest lake in the world at 25 million years old, it’s home to more than 2,000 varieties of flora and fauna, of which almost 1,600 are endemic to the lake.
