What to Expect at This Year’s Newport Beach 50 Days of Festive Fun

Last month, Newport Beach, California, kicked off its third annual 50 Days of Festive Fun event, and there’s still plenty of that fun to go around. Through Jan. 2, the city is celebrates the holidays in myriad ways, with something going on every single day.

The highlight event is the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade, which takes place nightly, Dec. 17–21, as brightly adorned boats make their way through the harbor, much to the delight of spectators. The theme for this year is Magical Nights of Lights, and the parade grand marshal is Ted McGinley, who you may recognize from shows such as Happy Days, The Love Boat or Married…with Children.

Even if you don’t arrive in town in time to catch a specific 50 Days of Festive Fun event that caught your eye, you can always enjoy the Newport Beach Holiday Trail, which will take you to some of the most festive spots throughout the community.
