If you are a fan of Anthropologie’s home décor, attire and accessories, a visit to its four-story flagship location in Philadelphia is a must. Nestled on the corner of Walnut and South 18 streets, the exterior greets visitors with a grand staircase leading to the entrance, as well as two big Anthropologie flags on either side, ensuring you won’t miss it.
Originally a private home to the Fell-Van Rensselaer family in 1898, the extravagant interior houses tall, portrait-filled ceilings of international Doges; a Tiffany glass dome; and the original cobblestone flooring on the bottom level, all still currently on display.
Other notes of the former mansion are still intact and can be spotted throughout the store, such as original fireplaces and crown molding.
Each floor holds different styles and brands of merchandise; however, the top level contains a big discount/clearance section you won’t want to miss. The two middle floors are mainly women’s apparel and accessories, while the bottom floor is dedicated to décor, gifts and home essentials.
Engaged and building your bridal wardrobe? The bottom floor also contains dress samples where you can work one on one with a stylist and try-on outfits for all occasions like honeymoon, bachelorette trip and, of course, the wedding.
