Portland, Oregon, transforms into a winter wonderland during the holiday season, with festive offerings for travelers of all ages.

New this year, 13 downtown hotels participate in the city’s Shop + Stay Portland Holiday initiative, which offers guests special shop and stay incentives. Participating hotels include Hilton Portland Downtown, Hotel Lucia, Park Lane Suites & Inn, and The Nines. The Ritz-Carlton, Portland offers guests two special packages: Gifts of the Rose City and Home for the Holidays.
A trip to Portland wouldn’t be complete without experiencing some of the city’s best breweries. Portland Holiday Brew Fest takes place Dec. 5–6. Several of the city’s bars transform into festive pop-ups for the holiday season, like Sleigh Love.

With no sales tax, Portland makes an excellent destination for holiday shopping. In addition to the city’s many charming shops and boutiques, there are several holiday markets running throughout the season. ScanFair and Portland Bazaar are among the popular options.
