Nestled along the Cooper River in New Jersey, Collingswood is a quaint town located just outside Philadelphia. Its proximity to the City of Brotherly Love makes it a perfect destination for a daytrip from the city.
Take a leisurely start to your day at grooveground. The café serves up tasty coffee, juice and teas with the choice of bagels, eggs and bakery items to accompany your drink. Bring your laptop or a good book and relax in one of the comfy chairs while enjoying your breakfast. Get an egg sandwich and a coffee for about $7.

The Collingswood Farmers Market is open Saturdays from May through November. Vendors offer local produce, baked goods, crafts and other items. Go for a stroll around the Cooper River. Popular among rowers, the area around the river offers great views of local wildlife and the Philadelphia skyline.
Featured on The Food Network, The Pop Shop is a retro-style diner specializing in comfort food. The menu is extensive, with breakfast favs, burger plates and more than a dozen types of fries. Try one of their popular grilled cheeses. Lunch runs about $10–12.
Haddon Avenue is home to many shops selling cute and quirky items. Whether you’re interested in art, antiques, books, health food, fitness gear, records, jewelry, beauty items, specialty groceries or toys, you can find what you’re looking for on Haddon Avenue.

The dining scene is ever growing in Collingswood. One of the most popular spots in town — and a perennial favorite on Philadelphia magazine’s 50 Best Restaurants in Philadelphia list — Zeppoli is the place to be for authentic Italian food. The restaurant is small — 35 seats — so reservations are a must. Spend about $40–50 for dinner. Collingswood is a dry town, so don’t forget to grab a bottle of wine to bring along to the BYOB restaurant.
The Scottish Rite Auditorium was built in the early 1900s. The stunning venue hosts more than 20 concerts a year. It’s also home to the Collingswood Community Theatre’s four or five annual productions. Attend a show if you’re in town or at least stop by to take in the beautiful building.
Collingswood hosts many special events and festivals throughout the year. Be sure to check the town website’s calendar of events.
