The first step to take when arriving in a new destination (besides going through passport control, only necessary in international destinations) is figuring out how to get from the airport to your accommodation. City buses, trains and taxis are the traditional go-to transit options, but some locations have transportation specifically dedicated to carting residents and visitors to and from the airport.
Dublin is one such city with Airlink buses that cover the route from the airport to the center of town without stopping every few minutes. The green Airlink Express bus has two appropriately named routes: the 747 and the 757.
The 747 bus route connects Dublin Airport with Heuston Rail Station with stops at the Convention Centre Dublin, O’Connell Street, Trinity College, Temple Bar and High Street, among others. Airlink 757 departs from the airport and includes the stops mentioned above, plus Pearse Rail Station, Merrion Square, St. Stephen’s Green, Leeson Street and more.
A one-way adult ticket costs €7 (approximately $8.25) while a return/round-trip ticket costs €12 ($14). Airlink also sells a combination pass that includes a 48-hour city tour card for €23 ($27) with a one-way ticket and €27 ($32) with a return ticket.
