Arajet, the flagship airline of the Dominican Republic, recently inaugurated its new route between Punta Cana International Airport and Orlando Sanford International Airport as the only active international operation at the U.S. airport. The route operates three times weekly on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. From PUJ, travelers can connect to six major cities in Latin America: Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Santiago de Chile, Mexico City, Córdoba and Lima.
“We are delighted to welcome Arajet as our new airline partner. This inaugural flight marks a fantastic new chapter for us—not only by adding a vibrant airline to our network but also by reconnecting our community with the world. We are thrilled to open our doors once again to international flights and look forward to building a successful, long-term relationship with Arajet,” said Nicole Martz, president, Orlando Sanford International Airport.
Florida is a cornerstone of Arajet’s growth strategy in the United States. The airline launched its Miami route earlier this year, and has thus seen unprecedented demand in the state. Orlando marks the second city in Florida served by Arajet.
“Launching this route at Orlando Sanford is a historic moment that fills us with pride, as we continue to connect the continent with the best value in the market and world-class service,” said Manuel Luna, chief communications and external affairs officer, Arajet. “Florida has become one of our strongest markets in the United States, and this new route builds on the success achieved in Miami, offering more options and convenience to Latin communities across the state.”
Arajet expanded its presence across the entire United States in 2025, as well. The company currently serves New York and San Juan, in addition to Miami and Orlando, and will add Chicago and Boston this month.
