United Continues Its Global Expansion
United Airlines keeps soaring to new heights, recently announcing another expansion of its leading global route network. The airline added new non-stop flights between Newark (EWR) and Marrakesh (RAK), Morocco; Tokyo (NRT) and Cebu (CEB), Philippines; and Houston (IAH) and Medellin (MDE), Colombia. That’s not all: United also plans to increase flights to popular worldwide destinations including Hong Kong (HKG); Seoul (INC), South Korea; and Porto (OPO), Portugal. Following the recent agreement to increase flights between the U.S. and Chinese governments, the airline now adds four weekly flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to Shanghai (PVG).

The flights are now offered Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. The destination becomes the 28th the airline services from John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Connecting to in-flight entertainment might be easier on your next United Airlines flight. As part of the airline’s United Next initiative to modernize aircraft, Bluetooth connectivity is now available on more than 100 United planes. The airline hopes to increase that number to more than 800 planes by 2032.

To start, the airline, based in the Maldives, offers flights between the Maldives and destinations throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
