Santorini is world renowned for its breathtaking cliff-side views and Caldera sunsets, but one of the best ways to see the views this island offers is on the water by boat.
There are many options for different tours to take around the island. Sunset Oia Cruises offers a wide range of different cruising and sailing itineraries depending on what you want to see, how private you’d like your tour to be and the time of day you’d like to go.
Should you choose a semi-private, semi-private premium or private tour, each itinerary around the island is more or less the same.
If you choose a premium semi-private tour (one of the best options for your money and time), you’ll sail with a group of 15–20 people on a large luxury catamaran. The tour includes free WiFi, an open bar, snorkeling equipment and towels.
Each itinerary takes you to all the main sights, although they may be in different order. Your guides will explain the island history and lore on your way to each stop and allow you time to take in your surroundings and enjoy.
One of the stops is the Red Beach, named for its red-sand cliffs, for snorkeling and swimming in the refreshing Aegean.
The White Beach is where you will spend the majority of your time. The boat will anchor for an hour to allow guests to swim and relax, while the crew prepares a delicious Greek barbeque of souvlaki, vegetables, salad, pasta, shrimp and more. Here you can enjoy a glass of Santorini wine, an after-dinner glass of Ouzo and, most commonly, an after-meal nap in the sun.
At the hot springs around the island’s active volcano, guests are encouraged to get out, swim and visit the mud bath.
Should you choose to do a sunset tour, and it is highly recommended, your last stop will be at the port of Oia to watch the sun descend into the water. It is a truly magical and breathtaking sight, and the best way to watch the sunset on the island.
Oia Sunset tours will arrange your transfer back to your hotel after a full day of fun in the sun.
