Manuel Antonio is home to some of the most exquisite dining experiences in Costa Rica and, luckily, most of them can be enjoyed on a budget. If you’re pinching pennies here are a few places you might want to try.
Sancho’s Tacos is only a step above a hole in the wall; it’s even attached to a hostel, but the tacos here are some of the best in the country. They serve American-sized portions of Mexican food at affordable prices.
Café Milagro isn’t as cheap as many of the local, smaller joints in Manuel Antonio, but it’s still affordable by American standards. It’s an independently owned coffee café with an attached bistro that serves up great salads and sandwiches for a light lunch.
The Manuel Antonio Falafel Bar is a great, healthy option for traveling vegetarians and vegans. Between the hummus shawarma, delicious falafel and the scrumptious smoothies, it’s difficult to decide what to try in one sitting.
La Cocina
La Cocina is an unassuming restaurant serving some of the tastiest treats in Manuel Antonio. The prices are low and the casado is possibly the best in town. It’s locally owned and the food is authentic.
