Pickleball comes to the high seas! Celebrity Cruises added pickleball courts to nine of the ships in its fleet, allowing first-time or avid players to enjoy open-air courts and panoramic ocean views. Pickleball is a hybrid of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.
“We are so excited to offer this social, fun and trending activity to both new and seasoned cruisers alike, whether traveling solo, as a couple, or as a group,” said Keith Lane, senior vice president, Hotel Operations, Celebrity Cruises. “And, imagine playing on the ship’s top deck with views of some of the world’s most amazing places all around you. What an experience!”
The nine ships include Celebrity Beyond and Celebrity Apex, Edge Series ships; and Celebrity Constellation, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Equinox, Celebrity Infinity, Celebrity Millennium, Celebrity Solstice and Celebrity Summit. Court locations vary by ship.
Pickleball, offered complimentary, is open to all guests on participating ships. Organized events and tournaments led by the ship’s activities team will be on offer, or guests can enjoy at their leisure based on court availability. Separate times will be coordinated for adult play (18 and over) or family play (6 and older). Personal equipment is allowed, with a net, paddles and balls also provided by Celebrity Cruises.
