The International Surfing Association announced the 2019 World Surfing Games will be held in Japan. This marks the first time the event will be used to directly qualify surfers for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

WalletHub compared 100 of the largest U.S. cities to see which are most recreation-friendly, looking at 48 key indicators. Indicators included costs of popular recreational activities such as going to the movies and bowling; costs of food and beverages like coffee; and number of recreational facilities like tennis courts, parks and live music venues.
