Let’s take off with the airline winners: United Airlines flies away with a duo of accolades, including its fourth consecutive Favorite International Airline, while its MileagePlus program earns its sixth Favorite Frequent-Flyer Program win. Boeing’s 787 Dreamliner took the Favorite Aircraft Type title.
American Airlines’ aa.com is a six-time Favorite Airline Website winner. American’s airline alliance, oneworld, takes its second Favorite Airline Alliance nod.

Around the globe, we recognize airline winners doing it best in their respective regions, including Air Canada, Favorite Airline in North America, fifth consecutive year; COPA Airlines, Favorite Airline in South/Central America; TAP Air Portugal, Favorite Airline in Europe, sixth consecutive year; Ethiopian Airlines, Favorite Airline in Africa, fourth consecutive year; Emirates, Favorite Airline in the Middle East; Cathay Pacific Airways, Favorite Airline in Asia; and Aeromexico, Favorite Airline in Mexico, fourth consecutive year. Delta Air Lines wins Favorite Airline App honors, for the second consecutive year, and Favorite Green Airline.
New to this year’s survey, we’re awarding the best in premium economy class worldwide. Here is the inaugural class of winners: Air New Zealand, Favorite Premium Economy Class, Asia; Air France, Favorite Premium Economy Class, Europe; LATAM Airlines, Favorite Premium Economy Class, South/Central America; and Delta Air Lines makes its third appearance on the winners’ list as Favorite Premium Economy Class, United States.

Now, flying on over to our airport winners, iGA Istanbul Airport takes two awards this year, each for the second consecutive year: Favorite Overall Airport in the World and Favorite Duty-Free Shopping in Europe. A few other airports are double winners, as well: O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, South Africa, is three-time Favorite Airport in Africa and Favorite Duty- Free Shopping in Africa; Bogotá El Dorado International Airport claims Favorite Airport in South/Central America for the fifth consecutive year and Favorite Duty-Free Shopping in South/Central America, three years in a row; Singapore Changi Airport’s two titles include Favorite Airport in Asia and Favorite Duty-Free Shopping in Asia; and Dubai Duty Free wins Favorite Duty-Free Shopping and its second Favorite Duty-Free Shopping in the Middle East.

Moving on to hotels, Thompson Nashville takes top honors as Favorite Individual Hotel. Marriott is a three-peat on this year’s survey, winning Favorite Hotel Chain for Marriott Hotels & Resorts; Marriott.com, Favorite Hotel Website, two years in a row; and Marriott Bonvoy, three times running, Favorite Hotel Rewards Program in the World. Next up is Autograph Collection Hotels, Favorite Lifestyle Hotel Chain, followed by Aman Resorts, Hotels & Residences, Favorite Hotel Chain in Asia. Favorite Green Hotel goes to Aloft for the third year running.
Fiesta Americana Travelty appears twice on this year’s survey: four-time Favorite Hotel Chain in Central/South America; and Favorite Hotel Chain in Mexico, ninth consecutive year. The last winning hotels include Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, Favorite Hotel Chain in Europe; Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts, Favorite Hotel Chain in the Middle East; and Hyatt, Favorite Hotel App.

THE PROCESS
Trazeetravel.com conducted a survey of its readers Dec. 14, 2021–May 1, 2022, with open-ended questions for the best in many categories important to the millennial travel market (under 40 years of age). This survey was conducted online at trazeetravel.com/thetrazees and emailed during the period in question. Only those questionnaires with more than 50 percent of the questions completed were counted. Those with less than 50 percent answered were discarded. Employees of the magazine or individuals associated with the travel industry were not allowed to participate.
