This month, Minor Hotels opened new Avani Queenstown in New Zealand. This is the first hotel of its kind in the destination and Avani’s New Zealand flagship, only the second in the country for the brand, following Avani Auckland Metropolis Residences.

The hotel was previously known as Oaks Shores Resort, but has been entirely transformed. With its lakefront location, the property provides a sleek, modern aesthetic capped off with spectacular views and a cozy vibe appropriate for a ski stay. Public spaces include a fitness center; spa; and dining venues, including Six to Midnight, which offers all-day dining, breakfast, high tea and après-ski moments.
“Avani Queenstown introduces a premium lifestyle offering to one of New Zealand’s most dynamic tourism destinations. Combining a standout lakefront location with Avani’s design-led approach, the hotel delivers a contemporary guest experience that reflects how travelers increasingly want to stay, connect and experience a destination,” described Craig Hooley, chief operating officer, Minor Hotels Australasia.
