Don’t think of a trip to Aspen as only suitable for the winter months, when skiing is all the focus. Aspen Snowmass — the resort complex encompassing four different mountains — is also a great pick for a summer getaway.
What can you expect?
For those who like to spend summer days mountain biking, Snowmass Bike Park is an option, offering a range of terrain and three-day bike rental packages, available at $300. New for this year, Aspen Snowmass allows e-bike access on 8 miles of trails through Sept. 7.
For something a little more low-key, brunch service will be offered at multiple venues on the mountains through September — but you’ll have to work for your brunch. The venues are only accessible via gondola, hike, bike or e-bike.
Family travelers will enjoy Family Fair Saturdays — exactly what you’d expect them to be, with all sorts of classic fair fun (games, live entertainment, food!) at Elk Camp, 11 a.m.–3 p.m., through Sept. 26.
Additionally, Aspen Snowmass will host the Up in the Sky Festival, Aug. 7–8, with headliners including John Summit, Empire of the Sun, Passion Pit and more.
