Tips / Travel

Thinking about where to go on vacation this fall? There are plenty of great opportunities to take in the fall weather and atmosphere on a weekend excursion. Here are some ideas for a fall vacation you should take this season, whether with friends, family or a loved one.

Orchard/Winery Weekend

Experience the full fall effect outdoors at an orchard or winery (or a combo of the too). The Northeast has plenty of great options to choose from for picking apples or tasting fall wines. Check out Linvilla Orchards or Honey Pot Hill Orchards for some great fall activities. If you’re looking for a great wine trail excursion to take, check out the New England Coastal Wine Trail.

Hiking/Mountain Weekend

There’s no better place to check out some vibrant fall foliage than up in the mountains where you can look down at it all. Consider a mountain weekend before it gets mobbed for ski season. Spend a weekend in Vermont or in the Poconos and turn it into an adventure with hiking trails and farmers market trips.

Chilly Shore Weekend

Even though beach season is long gone, a weekend at the beach in the fall is still a perfect outdoor adventure. Renting a beach house will be far less pricey during this time as well. Bring some blankets and bundle up for a picnic and drinks in the sand. Have your furry friend tag along for the ride for long walks and a game of catch.
