The 151-room property in Bend takes over former Shilo Inn and sits directly on the banks of the Deutsche River, a waterway known for its steelhead and blue-ribbon trout fishing. The hotel will also be less than 2 miles from Downtown Bend, home to outdoor lifestyle brands, craft breweries and more. Guests will also enjoy year-round access to skiing and mountain biking at Mount Bachelor and climbing at Smith Rock.
Field & Stream Lodge Co.’s lodge in Big Bear will offer 148 accommodations, complete with a restaurant, meeting space, suites, and outdoor pool and hot tub. The Big Bear lodge sits along the main road through Big Bear village, a two-hour drive from Los Angeles, and minutes from Bear Mountain Golf Course. In winter, guests can expect more than 650 skiable acres across three mountains, while summer brings boating and water sports on the 3,000-acre lake, as well as mountain biking and hiking.

“Bend and Big Bear both have the same qualities that drew us to Bozeman; they are towns built around getting outside with true, year-round adventure in every direction,” said Scott Ebbott, principal, AJ Capital Partners, founding partner of Field & Stream Lodge Co. “We’re seeing outdoor recreation continuing to pull more travelers out of cities and into towns like this, so we’re looking to build with the same approach we had for our first lodge. Our hotels are rooted in place, and created for outdoor travel seekers of every kind, including families, first-timers, seasoned adventurers, and everyone in between.”
Both properties are slated to open in 2028.

Oct 1, 2026Discover Intangible Riches on Inspiring Milestone Trips the World Over
It’s a truth universally acknowledged: Not every trip is created equal. Some are for family or social obligations, where the tropical island remains largely unexplored in lieu of birthday lunches, rehearsal dinners or your cousin’s graduation ceremony. Others are strictly business, where the nearby ski resort seems as hypothetical as your Q4 plans on the whiteboard in the corporate boardroom. Of course, the best trips are strictly for pleasure — the long-awaited vacation you’ve plotted (and saved airline miles) for months on end.
