Firefly Bar at Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok recently introduced its new cocktail menu, In Pursuit of the Firefly, a playful collection celebrating the mystical creature at the heart of the bar’s identity.

While previous menus explored the firefly’s travels around the world through flavor and experience, this new collection focuses on an understanding of its life and significance. The menu is divided into four chapters: Etymology, Ecosystem, Luminescence and Mythology. From the Etymology section, Where Is The Cricket features Stranger and Sons Gin, Mr. Three and Bros Ginger Falernum, cricket protein, chocolate and banana, kaffir lime, clarified milk, and mixed spices, and represents the three parts of a firefly (head, thorax and abdomen) working together. Similarly, the other chapters unfold: In Ecosystem, Blue Moon captures fireflies illuminating the sky at sunset; Tres Elementos from the Luminescence section is garnished with tomato, pineapple and kiwi, representing the optical illusion of a firefly’s light appearing orange, yellow and green simultaneously; and the Mythology chapter’s Journey to Amphawa with Phraya Rum 8 Years, Prakaan Select Cask, kaffir lime, lychee, coconut and more, honors the riverside town famous for its floating market and nighttime firefly displays.
“A magical sight to uphold, fireflies are becoming increasingly rare – especially in a city like Bangkok,” said Dicky Hartono, beverage manager, Firefly Bar. “This menu celebrates and honours the firefly, raising awareness of this special creature and helping to keep its magic alive.”

The table of contents presents each cocktail visually, from Fruity & Light to Complex & Bitter, and Strong & Bold to Sour & Refreshing to offer guests an immediate sense of each drink’s style. Each cocktail is then explored across a full page.
The signature drinks are supplemented by three ultra-luxury cocktails featuring top-shelf spirits and a zero-proof selection, described as “all buzz, no booze.”
Firefly Bar also offers an extensive spirits collection, spanning more than 20 pages and more than 370 bottles.
