Overwater villas and resorts were once fantasy travel all the way in the Maldives, Fiji and other far-off destinations, but, soon, you’ll be able to stay in an overwater resort much closer to home. Six Senses will open the Americas’ first overwater resort and residences in 2028 along the Caribbean coast of Belize.

The property will sit on Emerald Caye, a private island off the coast of Belize. Spanning 28 acres of marine reserve, Six Senses Belize will feature an array of resort accommodations, as well as 16 residences for those wishing for a permanent slice of heaven (and willing to pay $3.75 million).
The resort and residences will feature an all-day dining village with an overwater bar, as well as a village-style spa. The spa alone boasts ocean-view treatment rooms, a yoga pavilion at water’s edge, longevity programs and more.

The Longhouse, Secret Beach is another hub, serving food and drink across a café, deli, wine shop, and multilevel restaurant with a lounge and bar.
The best part? It’s a short flight from many major U.S. cities, like two hours from Miami (MIA); less than five hours from New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), Chicago (ORD) and Los Angeles (LAX); and 2.5 hours from Houston (IAH).
