Trends / Health & Wellness

Trekking through the varied terrain of Ireland’s wild west, rolling hills, cliff-covered beaches and busy city streets has always been a workout, but now it’s a good excuse to book a Vagabond tour through the Emerald Isle. Whether kick-starting a new fitness routine or just trying to stay on track while on vacation, Vagabond’s Adventure and Driftwood Tour offers plenty opportunity to do both.

Inspired by seeing so many tourists venture through Ireland wearing FitBits or fitness trackers, the new tours were specifically designed with health and wellness in mind. Beginning with the Vagabond Adventure, guests hike over ancient ruins, visit the Rock of Cashel, Skelligs Islands, kayak in the cove on Beara peninsula, bike and even surf —just to name a few activities. Priced at €1,619 (or $1,971) per person, the seven-day trip includes transportation by Land Rover, expert-designed itineraries, incredible sightseeing, comfortable accommodations and an array of adventure activities. While ideal for really any fitness level, be sure to bring your walking shoes.

Take a walk on the relaxing side with the Driftwood Tour. If hiking isn’t really your thing and you had more of a light walk in mind, the Driftwood Tour is a seven-day excursion, also known as the Treasure Ireland Tour, boasting easy walking trails, comfortable coach transportation and plenty of scenery. Meet the locals at the English Market in Cork, visit the beaches of Dingle Peninsula, dolphin watch on Dingle Bay and pay a visit to Connemara, showcasing beautiful rustic landscape. Priced at €1,699, ($1,978), this tour include six-night accommodations and transportation throughout.

Both tours include visits to the Cliffs of Moher in small groups and add-on excursion options.
