Explore the dark side of luxury this month with a trio of spine-tingling experiences at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. The three experiences include Haunted Cellar Afternoon Tea; JINX Spooky Speakeasy; and the return of the immersive theatrical experience, Castle Confidential.
Haunted Cellar Afternoon Tea
A twist on tradition, this tea service offers an array of savory bites and handcrafted sweets. Items include a black magic tuna tartare atop a house-made potato chip; fig and brie tartlet laced with caramelized onions and rosemary; the Midnight Burial made with milk chocolate mousse, brownie and cherries; a cheesecake with raspberry “blood” gel; and the Bewitched caramel pecan cupcake, topped with a witch’s hat.
Tea is available Wednesday to Sunday through Nov. 9, with seatings at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Reservations can be made online.
JINX Speakeasy
JINX is Fairmont Hotel Vancouver’s most mysterious haunt, equal parts moody lounge and magical potion lab, with mixologists serving cocktails infused with botanicals and aromatics.
JINX is open Wednesday to Saturday evenings, until Nov. 1. Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are available here. Tarot card readings will be available Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Castle Confidential
The hotel’s 14th floor, rumored to house more than just suites, is home to Castle Confidential, an immersive mystery experience in partnership with Vancouver Mysteries. Guests become part of an unfolding drama, engaging with characters, decoding clues and exploring themed rooms while enjoying cocktails tailored to each setting. The night ends with a reception with canapes on The Roof.
