Honeymoons

Instead of a grand, luxurious post-wedding honeymoon, newly married couples are starting to cut back and focus more on what they enjoy in a vacation. Minimoons — shorter trips closer to home — are the new replacement for honeymoons. Just because the locale isn’t beyond your state’s borders doesn’t mean romance won’t be on the menu.

Shorter trips mean taking fewer of your precious vacation days from work. Destinations closer to home mean you can splurge a bit of your honeymoon savings on nicer accommodations or romantic hours-long meals. After a pricey wedding and months of planning and prep, the last thing you and your new honey need is more financial strain. Saving money on a less expensive holiday after the wedding is beneficial for your finances and allows you to save for a fancier or longer vacation in the future.

Once the wedding is over, it isn’t actually over. There are bills to pay, thank-you notes to write and possibly a new home to build. Some couples are eager to start this new chapter of their life so they opt for a minimoon of only a few days and nights. A long weekend at a bed and breakfast is a perfect way to unwind and de-stress after an active engagement.

Remember, a minimoon is a time to celebrate your love with your new mate, so make sure you find something both of you will enjoy.

United flyers are sure to notice these enhancements from the moment they step on board: Each new or updated plane sports remodeled seats, seatback entertainment screens for everyone, Bluetooth connectivity and more, all adding up to a better experience on every journey.
