Tips / Destination

There’s nothing quite like Australia. The culture ensures a sense of adventure with its people, its always sunny weather and its “no worries, mate” kind of laid-back nature. Sydney is a hub for destination tourism and for good reason. In such a big city with such a wide offering of things to do, here’s how you can make the most of three days.

Day 1: Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Botanical Gardens, Harbour Cruise

Start the day with breakfast on the harbor. A stroll along the water will offer plenty of entertainment with street performers and breathtaking views of architectural icons the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. If you’re not afraid of heights, you can climb the stairs to the top of the bridge nearly 450 feet above water. You’ll be strapped to a harness and it will take you about 3.5 hours to get to the top. If you’d like to keep it leisurely, take a tour of the incredible Opera House. Afterward, it’s a short walk to the Botanical Gardens which offer stunning fields of beautiful flowers. Top the day off with a sunset cruise around the harbor. Views of the city from a boat on the harbor are unbeatable.

Day 2: Escape the City

Just outside the city is the famous Bondi Beach. There you’ll find a colorful array of people, houses, shops and more. After the sun has taken it out of you, check out Taronga Zoo or the Darling Harbour Aquarium to see the unique species that reign from the land Down Under. Finish off with a sunset dinner in Bondi after a cliff walk between Bondi and Bronte.

Day 3: Adventures

Many people who visit Sydney flock to the Blue Mountains. It’s a hike to get there, but the views are stunning. It’s a full-day excursion, but if you don’t have all day a good alternative is taking a ferry to Watson’s Bay where you can explore views of deep cliffs next to the ocean and have lunch in the fishing village.
