How to Protect Your Money

Tips / Safety

There are many ways to protect money from thieves and make sure you don’t fall victim to credit card fraud. However, even following these practices it is not a guarantee credit card fraud won’t happen or money won’t be taken. There is always a risk when you’re traveling.

To protect your belongings keep track of their location at all times. One way to do this is by keeping it on your person. A good idea is to wear clothing with secret pockets. On Amazon, there is a tank top for $45 that has secret pockets and claims to keep personal items hidden from thieves. Something like this will give you peace of mind because you’ll always know exactly where everything is.

Another great technique is to carry around a small lock to use on a backpack or bag to make it harder for a thief to gain access. No thief has time to pick a lock and then take all the goods inside. Never carry around large sums of money — just in case money does get lost or stolen, at least it won’t be your whole life savings.

Try to use a credit or debit card less when traveling. Take out enough money for the day from inside a bank or somewhere that seems safe to avoid ATM machines rigged to steal information. The less it is used, the less likely it is someone will get access to that information.

The Argosaronic Islands Are Calling

The Saronic or Argo Saronic Islands of Greece call travelers to explore its seven small islands and islets brimming with history, natural sites and more. With most easily accessible by boat, the islands’ proximity to ports of Athens make the Saronic Islands an ideal destination for those preferring shorter boat rides. In fact, trips from Athens ports to the islands take only between 10 minutes and two hours, depending on the island you choose, making them perfect for day or weekend trips.
