Tips / Travel

No matter how much travelers and the air travel industry attempt to assuage the process of getting from Point A to Point B, there is always the possibility wrench will be tossed into the spokes of your plans. As travel continues to provide people with predictable hectic headaches, it’s as beneficial as ever to keep a cool demeanor every step of the process. Count on the following tips to stay calm in a manic, uncontrollable environment.

Do your homework. To avoid roadblocks or unforeseen stalls at the airport, such as unexpected fees or baggage restrictions, take time to review the airline’s policies so you are well informed for what is (or may possibly be) to come.

In addition to brushing up on the airline’s rules, also consider viewing an airport map. Knowing the location of the different terminals and the possible lengthy distance between your check-in point and gate of departure can be a major time saver. Food and shopping options are also helpful to know in the case of a pre-flight snack stock-up.

Charge yourself. Eager for a few last-minute bars of power but short on power outlets? Pack an outlet splitter so you and a fellow traveler can both benefit from a single outlet. Charging stations are hot commodities in airports, so remember sharing is caring.

Headphones are your friend. After security and before boarding, plug yourself into whatever music or app you have on your phone that helps you relax. Meditation apps, soothing podcasts or soft beats aid in transporting you to your happy place among thousands of hurried travelers.
