Mélia Expands in Mediterranean with 2 New Hotels

Mélia Hotels International brings fresh perspectives to Spain’s and Malta’s hospitality scenes with the opening of two new hotels.

Hacidenda del Mar in Estepona, Spain

Along Spain’s Costa del Sol, new Hacienda del Mar, a member of The Mélia Collection, gives travelers a new beachfront retreat centered around Mediterranean living, wellness and cuisine. The property is surrounded by more than 11 acres of gardens, complete with direct beach access, 131 guestrooms and suites, three outdoor pools, and expansive outdoor spaces designed for relaxation and connection with the landscape.

The hotel is anchored by MAIA Spa, spanning six treatment rooms, a heated indoor pool, Finnish sauna, steam bath and relaxation areas. Dining experiences include Neguri Beach Club, inspired by Mediterranean seaside dining and nautical clubs; Burladero, highlighting contemporary Andalusian cuisine and local ingredients; Almenara, a breakfast spot; and Ubral, a relaxed lobby bar.

INNSiDE by Mélia Bugibba in Malta

Opened last month, INNSiDE by Mélia Bugibba is the lifestyle brand’s debut in the country, bringing contemporary, design-focused hospitality to Malta. The hotel sits in the heart of Bugibba Square in St. Paul’s Bay, steps from the seafront. The 86-key property offers eight categories of accommodations, from sea-view rooms with balconies to spacious townhouse-style suites.

Guests can enjoy three dining concepts: O’Luna Restaurant, a space transitioning from a breakfast destination to an evening dining experience with Mediterranean cuisine and live music; O’Sole Rooftop, offering a heated infinity pool and panoramic sea views; and We Proudly Deliver (WPD), an artisanal gelato shop. The hotel also boasts a two-floor InFit Gym, year-round rooftop swimming, pet-friendly amenities and sustainably focused initiatives.
