In Nashville, Frist Art Museum is preparing to exhibit a series of recently discovered Paul McCartney photographs from the earlier days of The Beatles. The exhibit, titled Paul McCartney Photographs 1963–64: Eyes of the Storm, is on displayNov. 6, to Jan. 26, 2026. In anticipation of greater visitation surrounding the exhibit, the museum will be open extra hours throughout those dates, as well as offering advanced-purchase timed tickets to see the exhibit, with those tickets on sale starting in early October.

The exhibit includes almost 300 photographs taken between December 1963 and February 1964, as well as various related ephemera. All photos were taken personally by McCartney on his own camera, and many have never been seen before, only recently discovered in McCartney’s archives in 2020.

Of the exhibit, Frist Art Museum Chief Curator Mark Scala said, “There is something wonderfully revealing about these behind-the-scenes glimpses of musicians we thought we knew so well. What stands out is not just the sweetness and immediacy of the images, but McCartney’s intuitive understanding of how to make a compelling picture.”
