Northern Washington State’s wild and vast North Cascades National Park is worth going out of your way to visit. Nicknamed the “American Alps,” these impressive spires harbor even more impressive glaciers, meadows and scenic views.

Some of the best experiences include boating and fishing on wild Ross Lake, trekking to the remote town of Stehekin and taking a scenic drive along the Cascade Loop.
Backcountry activities like hiking, camping and climbing are popular pastimes here. Friendly rangers can help you plan a trip and equip you with the proper permits. Visit the new Environmental Learning Center located on the shores of Diablo Lake, go whitewater rafting on the Skagit River or enjoy a view of a swath of mountains at the Washington Pass Overlook.
