With noctourism and after-dark experiences on the rise, more hotels add new experiences to cater to the changing interests of travelers. Pendry Washington DC – The Wharf is the newest hotel to hop on the trend with the introduction of an after-dark series called Full Moon Nights at its rooftop bar, Moonraker.
The new monthly rooftop series at Moonraker is inspired by the Japanese tradition of moon viewing (or Tsukimi), and is timed to the lunar calendar. Once a month, guests are invited to the waterfront rooftop bar for a mix of astrology, astronomy and music under the full moon. The hotel partnered with DC’s Luv Collective to bring this new event to travelers and locals alike.
Each event will include intimate birth chart readings, viewings of the moon and night sky through a telescope with a local astronomer, a performance by a local DJ, a welcome cocktail, and light bites beneath the glow of the full moon.
Each Full Moon Night runs $65 per person. Additional cocktails and mocktails will be available for purchase.
Upcoming dates include: May 28, Blue Moon; July 2, Strawberry Moon; July 20, Buck Moon; Aug. 27, Sturgeon Moon; Sept. 24, Harvest Moon; and Oct. 22, Hunter’s Moon.
