You’re standing on a Florida beach at sunset waiting to snap that perfect photo or maybe you’re in the Big Apple hoping to enjoy a picnic in Central Park in the sunshine, but your weather app fails to predict the clouds rolling in, and soon your picture-perfect experience is marred by gray skies or even rain.
With the new Sunseeker app, you won’t need to run into this problem again. This app is a comprehensive solar tracking and compass app, showing the sun’s hourly direction intervals, its equinox, winter and summer solstice paths, sunrise and sunset times, twilight times, sun shadow, golden hours, and more.
You can even add sun event notifications and access the app’s widget to see the day’s solar data and position on an arc. Essentially, you can see in real time where the sun is in your desired location and plan to the minute a sunshine-filled experience.
The app also comes with a surveyor view, which shows the solar direction for each sunlight hour. You can view both a flat compass view and a 3-D augmented reality view, too.
Sunseeker uses GPS, magnetometer and gyroscope to find the correct solar position and sun path of your current location. Choose from any location on earth (including more than 40,000 cities or custom locations available offline).
The app is available in both the Apple and Google Play store for $12 and $6.49, respectively.
