After a fun but busy week in India, I was eager to get some rest on my flight home so I could wake up refreshed for work. My family usually goes with United when flying to India, so I was familiar with the experience.

I’ve flown United many times in the past, though my trip to Ireland was my first experience on the airline’s international service. At boarding time, there was confusion at the gate when one agent announced zone four could begin boarding and the gate agent collecting tickets insisted only zones one, two and three could board. Passengers created two lines, which caused several people from zone five to sneak in before zone four. The later passengers to arrive on board had trouble finding space for their carry-on luggage. I noticed a few passengers speak to two separate flight attendants before finding help.
