TAP Portugal’s Stopover program allows U.S travelers to Europe to include a visit to Portugal on the way for no additional airfare. TAP serves 45 European destinations from the United States via Lisbon, at fares starting from just $499 round-trip.
Travelers can stay up to three nights on their stopover in Lisbon and even add a free domestic flight to Porto.
TAP serves Lisbon with daily flights from New York (JFK), Newark (EWR), Boston (BOS) and Miami (MIA), as well as non-stop to Porto twice weekly from Newark. The Stopover program is available on all flights and all routes.
TAP has several airfare sales currently which all include up to a three-day stopover in Lisbon and/or Porto at no extra cost.
For travel between Nov. 1 and Dec. 14, travelers may couple a visit to Portugal with their trip to Paris or London, from $499 or $508 round-trip, respectively. This fare is for sale through Sept. 30.
Travel to Spain between Nov. 1 to Dec. 14 and between Jan. 8 and April 6, 2017, can include Lisbon and Porto on the way, from $640 round-trip. TAP serves nine cities in Spain: A Coruña, Astúrias, Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Málaga, Seville, Valencia and Vigo. TAP’s other European destinations are on sale with the Stopover also from just $680 round-trip. These fares must be purchased by Nov. 30.
The Stopover booking option is available on the flight search mode on flytap.com and TAP launched an innovative app, available from the Apple Store or Google Play, providing Stopover passengers with a virtual ID card to be presented to the different partners in order to get benefits.
The app is also a tool to provide customer assistance, operating as a travel guide and allowing customers to share their experiences on social networks, encouraging their friends and family to visit Portugal. In addition to great fares, TAP’s Stopover program includes hotel discounts and other added benefits such as free wine.
TAP has established a network with more than 150 partners, who will ensure exclusive prices for Stopover customers in hotels, a free bottle of Portuguese wine in restaurants and free experiences, such as tuk-tuk rides, visits to museums, dolphin watching in the River Sado and food tastings.
