Silverado Resort & Spa, Napa Valley

My friend Megan and I arrived at Silverado Resort & Spa, Napa, after touring Alcatraz, driving from San Francisco in a heavy rainstorm, lunch at Long Meadow Ranch and a tasting at Peju. It was late afternoon in November, so it was dark when we arrived and parked. Parking is complimentary, but a bit of a walk from check-in. We were in town for Flavor! Napa Valley, a celebration of all things food and wine, and Silverado, the expansive resort, spa and golf course set on 1,200 acres in the heart of Napa, was one of the host hotels for the festival. While busy, we checked in quickly and were driven to our one-bedroom suite in a golf cart.

Hotel Nelva Murcia

After a long day touring nearby Cartagena and Jumilla, I arrived in Murcia, the capital of the Spanish province of the same name. Several groups were checking in to Hotel Nelva Murcia simultaneously, but I still felt as though I was on the way to my eighth-floor room in a reasonable amount of time.
