Farmer’s markets bring people together and benefit communities, increasing access to fresh and nutritious foods. For those of you that enjoy organic food, then you’ll no doubt already be a huge fan of farmer’s markets. Here are the top 5 farmer’s markets you can’t miss this August.

The Old Stone House

Starting in New York City, get yourself down to Brooklyn on Sunday. Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., The Old Stone House in Park Slope is the venue for this particular farmer’s market, full of pasture-raised meats, homegrown-style fruit and vegetables and internationally inspired cuisine.

State’s University

If you’re in Portland, and it’s a Saturday, then head on over to the State’s University campus which brings more than 150 of the areas best producers and farmers together to offer crisp, homemade produce.

West Bend Farmer’s Market

There’s nothing finer than a summer’s day spent at a farmer’s market in Wisconsin. So, if you’re heading to Milwaukee this August, wake up early and enjoy the sights, sounds and tastes of West Bend Farmer’s Market. Get there for 7:30 a.m., to get the most out of it, and don’t be late because it all wraps up around 11 a.m.

Huntington Beach

On the West Coast, you’ll find an eclectic array of farmer’s market, and none more so than Huntington Beach’s night farmer’s market that takes place every Tuesday evening. Not only will you find the usual mouth-watering food stalls, but you’ll also be treated to live entertainment and local vendors selling handmade crafts.

Sweet Auburn Market

In Atlanta, you’ll find the highly popular Sweet Auburn Market on the eastern side of downtown Atlanta. Attracting locals and tourists alike, this indoor market has been open since 1918 and is the home for a wide variety of stands, vendors and a multitude of unique restaurants. Don’t go on a Sunday, though, because you’ll be disappointed to find it’s closed.
