Destinations / Caribbean

Montego Bay is a beautiful city on the island of Jamaica. It has white sandy beaches with translucent waters that will make you want to stay on the island and even friendlier people who will make your trip worthwhile. If you ever decide to go to Jamaica, here are the top five places and things you should do.

Doctor’s Cave Beach

Visit Doctor’s Cave Beach. This beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The waters are blue, and you can enter the beach through a cave. It is also a bathing club located on the famous Mobay hip strip. Admission costs $6 per adult.

Mobay Hip Strip

Visit Mobay Hip Strip, popular both among locals and tourists when seeking nightlife. Along the strip, find casinos, bars, lounges and clubs where you can go dancing or watch concerts with locals and artists. Margaritaville is one of the most popular spots, along with Tracks and Records, owned by Usain Bolt (both can be enjoyed day and night).

Jerk Center

Visit a jerk center. Scotchies is a trendy spot for tourists on the island. You can find the best jerk chicken, pork and a lot of other meats and vegetarian options on the menu. You’ll be surrounded by music and locals with whom you can mingle.

Rafting

Go rafting on the Martha Brae River, a 30-minute to one-hour drive from Montego Bay. Located in Falmouth, Trelawny, the tours are done on bamboo and usually include a history lesson and photo package.

Rose Hall Great House

The Rose Hall Great House is an attraction that may take you out of your comfort zone. It is a mansion on a hill that has a legend about a “White Witch” who lived there. There are three tours available to explore the vast estate.
