There’s no better way to get a feel for a city than to speak with the locals who live in it. That’s why the Urban Living Tour by Berlinagenten is a fantastic opportunity to explore Berlin.
Unlike most tours that simply shuffle you along to various attractions, the Urban Living Tour puts you up close and personal with locals by having you explore their actual homes and sit down to chat with them about life in Berlin. Who you meet depends on the day you go, but examples of locals include an experimental photographer’s apartment on Karl-Marx-Allee, one of the ritziest digs in town, or an oddball set designer’s underground abode.
You’ll tour three separate homes over the course of the day, along with a private sightseeing tour of the city in between stops. Food and drink (some of which is alcoholic) will also be provided during the trip, which tends to last between four and five hours.
The locals will regale you with stories of the city and explain why they love living there over anywhere else in the country. It’s a wonderful opportunity to make new friends.
