A new wave of uncommon wedding traditions includes the ¨mysterymoon,¨ a trip that gives the new couple one less thing to think about and plan as they prepare for their union.

When couples decide they want to try for a mysterymoon, they leave it in the hands of travel agencies and remove one item from their lengthy to-do list. For those who love surprises and the unexpected twist, the destination of a mysterymoon is not revealed until during or after the wedding. Preferences including a budget, length of trip and general environment can be proposed by the couple to the travel agency, but all other details will be kept a secret.

At the trend´s beginning stages, most couples were approaching their friends who happen to be travel agents for advice about where to go and what to see. However, as the trend catches on, engaged couples are soliciting respected but unknown travel agents to assist them with this process.

With everything that comes with planning a wedding, organizing what is supposed to be an enjoyable trip with your new spouse can be exhausting.
