When you’re getting ready to board a long flight, you probably grab a few snacks from the airport before you go — but what do you reach for? A recent study from Holafly attempted to nail down just which airport snacks are travelers’ top favorites.
The study looked at keyword search volumes around airports to rank travelers’ favorite airport snacks both nationwide and on a state-by-state basis. The study found, on a nationwide level, Oreos took the top spot as the go-to option. However, others in the top 10 included Jack Link’s beef jerky, Cheetos (two different kinds), Twizzlers, Sour Patch Kids, Dunkin’ Donuts, Welch’s fruit snacks, Doritos and Haribo gummy bears.
While, arguably, Dunkin’ Donuts isn’t an airport snack per se, enough travelers search for donuts ahead of their flights, apparently, the chain snuck its way to the top state spot in both New York and South Dakota.
Other snacks that were favorites throughout the states, but not nationwide, included M&M’s (the top choice in Utah and Oklahoma) and Chobani yogurt (a go-to in Massachusetts). However, overall, nationwide, Chobani yogurt was the least-liked snack, according to Holafly’s data.
