Destinations

Planning a trip to Europe this fall? Or maybe you just plan on staying stateside? You likely won’t be alone with either option, according to new data from VisitorsCoverage.

The travel insurance marketplace recently looked at trending destinations for the fall months and found nearly 90 percent of travelers plan on visiting Europe this fall, with the top destination being France, followed by Italy, Spain and Germany. Many travelers are also remaining stateside or traveling to the United States from elsewhere, with a few headed to Canada, as well. All in all, the data showed about 20 percent of travelers had planned fall trips to somewhere in North America.

The data additionally showed a very small portion of travelers headed to the Middle East and South America this fall. For those trips, top destinations include Kuwait, Turkey and Saudi Arabia in the former, and Brazil and Colombia in the latter. Cuba appeared as a top destination in the Caribbean, as did Mexico.

While not many travelers reported planning trips to Asia or Africa this fall, a small percentage are still headed to Japan, followed by Indonesia, China and Vietnam. Africa’s most popular destination for the fall months? Morocco.

Best of Both Worlds

Enjoy the best of both worlds when you fly with TAP Air Portugal thanks to the Portugal Stopover program. With the program, TAP passengers, whether traveling for business, leisure or both, can stop in Portugal for up to 10 days at no additional airfare on the way to their final destination. What does this mean for travelers wishing to explore by both land and sea? It means after flying to Portugal with TAP and experiencing the country in an entirely new way, travelers can then embark on scenic river and ocean cruises from  Portugal’s port cities, or fly with TAP to another European destination.
