With the countdown to summer officially underway, private jet company Planet 9 compiled a list of tips for preparing for long-haul flights. While some things just can’t be avoided on flights, there are several ways to make your trip more enjoyable or, at least, less stressful and more manageable.
Stay Hydrated
You might not know it, but many passengers become dehydrated traveling by plane, whether it’s because they don’t want to keep getting up to use the restroom and climb over passengers or because they simply forget to hydrate amid on-screen entertainment, free sodas and other distractions. And while drinking water is important, replenishing your body with electrolytes is essential. Invest in some Liquid IV and keep some in your carry-on to keep you properly hydrated.
Keep Carry-On Clothes Smelling Clean
Whether you’re on your way to a vacation or returning home, packing all of your clothes tightly into a bag can sometimes mean uninvited scents. Especially when coming home from a trip (when you’re just shoving clothes in your bag with no thought), it’s important to prevent unruly smells. Purchase some dryer sheets and place them in your bag to avoid bad odors from used clothes and socks.
Consider a Weekender Bag
Carry-on suitcases aren’t always the best option. A weekender bag, or a bag that fits perfectly on top of a suitcase, allows for easy access to items. These are great for holding laptops and other essentials you may need to grab in a pinch when in the airport or on the plane. Instead of standing up and reaching for your overhead bag, these slide comfortably under the seat for easy access. Bags like the Béis Weekender Bags are a great option for long-haul flights.
Keep Packed Clothes Wrinkle-Free
In a pinch and don’t have access to a steamer or iron? Packed clothing often means wrinkles upon wrinkles, unavoidable in most cases. That doesn’t mean you have to wear wrinkly clothes, however. Purchase some Downey Wrinkle Release Spray or Magic Wrinkle Releaser to give your clothes that pressed and smooth appearance.
