We’ve all been there — whenever you actually need to make use of the flashlight collecting dust in the cabinet, the batteries are dead. VuPoint solves this problem, functioning as a kinetic emergency flashlight that does not require batteries.
You power the water-proof flashlight, with simple twists of the base of the flashlight charging the device. For every one minute of twisting, the flashlight provides 15 minutes of power, and light turns on as quick as your first twist. Watch the video to see how it works. If you ever get tired of twisting, charging is also possible with an included USB cable.
Additional convenient features of the 3W LED, 200-lumen light includes three brightness settings and flash and SOS functions for emergency situations. If ever caught in an emergency, the flashlight also includes useful simple tools such as a compass, mirror, can opener and whistler. It is also fairly small and light, weighing only 1.5 pounds, so storing the device is easy and convenient in your car, emergency kit or cabinet where you used to keep the flashlight with the dead batteries.
The VuPoint kinetic emergency flashlight is available for $69 online from The Grommet, a product launch platform based in Boston.
