Tips / Travel

Every year, the same thing happens. Travelers living in destinations with four seasons wish for the warmer days of summer. Then, after two months of sweat, we begin looking for a cooler getaway. If this is you, check out these perfectly chilly destinations to cool off during the summer months.

Edinburgh, Scotland

With summer temperatures in the high 50s, you’ll find a pleasing mix of sunshine and rain to keep you cool during a visit to Edinburgh. Light jacket weather means you can still get out and about the city to explore the many historic and cultural attractions offered.

San Francisco, Calif.

While California is definitely not one’s first thought when trying to plan a cool-weather destination for summer, the Bay Area has relatively cool weather in the summer months. With temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s, you can enjoy all this memorable American city has to offer in comfort.

Ushuaia, Argentina

If neither of the above are cold enough for you, why not head to where it actually is winter? South of the equator, Argentinians are enjoying skiing in the gorgeous mountains while you swelter in the heat.

Cape Town, South Africa

Another south of the equator destination, Cape Town’s winter is off season, meaning more affordable accommodations and flights, as well as the possibility of snow. If you’ve ever wanted to visit South Africa, this is the time to do it.
