According to Charmaine Spencer, chief marketing officer, Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, “Today’s visitors are looking for authentic experiences that allow them to engage and participate rather than simply observe. Antigua and Barbuda Art Week offers those opportunities by connecting visitors directly with our artists, our culture and our communities.”
Highlights for this year’s event include the Dual Thresholds public art exhibition, which features nearly 30 freestanding and double-sided doors that have been transformed into works of art reflecting the people, culture and landscapes of the destination. Then, there’s a retrospective exhibition celebrating Maria Ross Iztueta, a Caribbean artist who passed in 2024.

Other festivities throughout the week-long event include opportunities to visit studios and galleries and “meet the artist,” as well as culinary arts and painting experiences, live painting competitions and more.
